harrison and matthew making a splash
“I have been meaning to email you for quite some time and apologize for not sending this sooner. I felt I really needed to email and thank you for everything you have done for my boys in the last 9 years. My oldest son Harrison who is 11 years old now, started at Aquatic Achievers, Aspley when he was 2 years old and only left a few years ago when he moved to squad training at a swimming club. Matthew, my youngest is currently in Arms.
The reason I chose aquatic achievers was purely to make sure my boys were safe around our pool at home. It was only after the boys started the long journey, climbing through all the levels aquatic achievers have to offer, did I realise the value of the way they were being taught. Harrison had excellent coaches at every level, Ryan being his coach for a lot of the time, Sean and Andrea for a level or 2 amongst others, including Jenny. Harrison’s first swimming achievement was at the age of 6 at Geebung Swimming club, where he broke his first freestyle record.
When Harrison turned 8 he competed in his first big competition, Brisbane Sprint Championships at Chandler. After spending the winter in squad training at aquatic achievers he won 2 gold (50 Butterfly, Backstroke), 1 silver (50 Freestyle) and a bronze (50 Breaststroke). Last year when Harrison turned 10, he competed in the Qld Primary School Trials. Harrison broke a 17 year old 50m Butterfly Queensland Primary School record. He made the Qld Team for 50 Butterfly, 50 Backstroke and 100 Butterfly.
Harrison competed at Nationals in July last year in Melbourne and got a silver for 50m Butterfly and was the National U/10 Boys 100m Butterfly champion. Harrison has made the 2015 Queensland Primary School Team and is currently training for the Pacific School Games which will take place in Adelaide in November this year. He will compete in the 50m Butterfly, 100m Butterfly and 3 Relay events.”
