Superhero Safety Week

A special event all about 'saving lives'.

Superhero Safety Week aims to build ongoing awareness in our young students about staying safe in and around the water. This message is not only limited to pools, but also extends to other various water environments we encounter such as beaches, rivers, dams and even bath time. With hundreds of young lives still being lost to water each year through preventable accidents, we look to continue creating safe and confident children in our students.

This pop-up week of fun, safety driven content assists children to develop a variety of skills and thinking to help keep themselves safe. By linking this theme of ‘saving lives’ with heroic figures they admire such as Superhero’s and Life Guards, kids are far more engaged and in turn will offer a more active participation. This content will be delivered during normal lesson times for students in Seals level and above.

Note: This change to lesson plans excludes Dog Paddlers level, which is already heavily focused on safety fundamentals.

Event date: October 16 – 22

Cost: Free

What to bring: A change of clothes to swim in (children in ‘Seals’┬álevel and above will do a clothed safety swim during their lesson)

Get dressed up!

Join in the fun by coming along to your lesson dressed as your favourite superhero or even a life guard. It could just be a mask, cape or cap, or go all out with a costume. Babies are also welcome to get in the spirit.

Win Tickets

Simply by dressing up during Superhero Safety Week, you can enter our draw to win 4 theme park VIP Magic Passes for your family (valued at over $350!). Take them to experience the Superhero action at Warner Bros Movie World, discover the friendly animals of Sea World and use your new water skills at Wet n Wild all Summer long.

Special Lesson Plans

A special lesson plan has been developed for the week to introduce students in Seals level and above to new skills and thinking around water safety. These learnings will be timely as many families head off on holidays this Summer to beach and riverside destinations.

Note: This change to lesson plans excludes Dog Paddlers level, which is already heavily focused on safety fundamentals.
