why it’s more than just lessons.

Our then three-year-old son Sam, was playing in our backyard pool with his 11yr old cousin Nick, whilst my husband watched on from outside the fence. Matt looked up and watched as Sam stood up to jump onto a big blow up turtle held by Nick. Just as he was about to land on the turtle it moved, and Sam went off the turtle and into the water unexpectedly.
As he landed in the water, instead of panicking, Sam turned his body to the side of the pool and paddle kicked to the edge. Just as my husband got inside the gate to help him, Sammy reached the edge of our pool. Here he took a deep breath, gave a self-satisfied smile and said to himself “I did it!” He then got out and kept playing in the pool with Nick.
We were so proud, and incredibly grateful that his teachers at Aspley (Andrea & Tracey) had developed his confidence, and ability, to the level where he was able to save himself.
