First Lap and Active Kids Vouchers in NSW

School enrolled children in New South Wales may be eligible to access First Lap Learn to Swim Vouchers, as well as Active Kids Vouchers, in the NSW Government’s push to get kids fit and active. These $50 vouchers of can be used towards swimming lessons at Aquatic Achievers Swim Schools across NSW.

NSW Government's Active Kids Vouchers

Parents and Guardians of school enrolled children, can access a $50 Active Kids program voucher, to put towards sport and recreation costs such as swimming. Aquatic Achievers is a registered activity provider, accepting vouchers across our NSW learn to swim centres.

If you’re a parent, carer or guardian, the student will be eligible if they are:

  • a NSW resident
  • aged between 4.5 and 18 years
  • enrolled in school (from Kindergarten to Year 12, including those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW)
  • a current Medicare card holder.

You can apply for an Active Kids voucher for each eligible student.

You can use the voucher for registration, participation or membership costs with an approved Active Kids provider.

What you’ll need

  • a MyServiceNSW Account
  • a proof of identity document for the parent or guardian
  • Medicare card details for your child
  • your child’s weight and height (optional).
  1. Check the eligibility requirements.
  2. Select the ‘Apply online’ button.
  3. Log in, or create your MyServiceNSW Account.
  4. Follow the prompts to apply for an Active Kids voucher.

Note: Apply for a voucher through the Service NSW app. If successful, you’ll find the Active Kids voucher under the ‘Vouchers’ section of the app.

To use an Active Kids voucher:

Provide the following information at registration:

  • child’s full name
  • child’s date of birth
  • Active Kids voucher number

An Active Kids voucher can only be used:

  • once (if the fees for your chosen activity are less than $100, the remaining balance is forfeited and can’t be used)
  • for the person named on the voucher
  • for registration or membership fees with an approved Active Kids provider like Aquatic Achievers.

A voucher cannot be:

  • split between more than one provider or registration (which means if you do not use the full $100 any remaining amount will not be used)
  • used for individual items (like swimming caps, goggles, etc)
  • used for the same activity within the same term as another Active Kids voucher
  • redeemed for cash.

To use an Active Kids voucher, give the details to your registered activity provider.

Discover NSW First Lap Learn to Swim Vouchers

Parents, guardians and carers of children aged 3 to 6 years who are not enrolled in school, can apply for a $50 voucher towards the cost of swimming lessons.

Voucher eligibility 

  • Each First Lap voucher can only be used:
    • once (if the program is under $50, the remaining balance cannot be refunded or used with another provider)
    • with an approved First Lap provider like Aquatic Achievers
    • for a program of at least 5 structured and supervised swimming lessons, which are either intensive (daily) or regular weekly swimming lessons
    • on or before the expiry date.
  • Vouchers cannot be used:
    • to buy individual items (such as swimwear, goggles and flippers)
    • for swimming lessons online
    • to pay for pool entry/membership costs
    • to redeem for cash.

What you’ll need

  • a MyServiceNSW Account
  • a proof of identity document for the parent or guardian
  • Medicare card details for your child
  • child’s weight and height (optional).

  2. Select the ‘Apply online’ button.
  3. Log in, or create your MyServiceNSW Account.
  4. Follow the prompts to apply for a First Lap voucher.

If successful, you’ll:

  • find the voucher under the ‘Vouchers’ section of the Service NSW app within an hour
  • receive an email from Service NSW with a downloadable/printable First Lap voucher.

Don’t have a MyServiceNSW Account or unable to apply online? Simply visit a Service NSW Centre with your proof of identity documents.

  1. Find your nearest Aquatic Achievers centre in NSW
  2. Log in to the Service NSW app on your mobile device.
  3. Select ‘Vouchers’.
  4. Select the First Lap voucher.
  5. Present the voucher QR code for the business to scan at payment.
  6. Your device will show the First Lap voucher as being used.

If you do not have a mobile device, you can provide the printed First Lap voucher or voucher code instead.

Both printed and digital First Lap vouchers can be redeemed at Aquatic Achievers.
