Frequently Asked Questions

What certifications do your North Lakes swimming instructors have?

All our Aquatic Achievers swimming instructors in North Lakes are Austswim-certified. Austswim is the industry standard for swimming and water safety teaching in Australia and is recognised across all states and territories. In addition to this certification, our swim instructors also undergo ongoing training to ensure that they stay updated with the latest developments in learn-to-swim techniques.

The safety of our learners is our number one priority at Aquatic Achievers. All training and teaching are conducted under strict supervision to ensure that your child is never in danger and that they receive the best instruction from our swim instructors here at our North Lakes swimming school.

How old should my child be to start swimming lessons?

It’s never too early to start your child on swimming lessons. Our Aquatic Achiever swimming program offers lessons to little ones from 3 months old and up. The sooner your child begins to learn the basics of swimming, the more of a head start they will have to find their footing in the water.

We empathise with many parents who feel anxious about their child’s safety in unpredictable water environments, which is why we emphasise learning how to swim from a young age at our North Lakes swim facility in QLD.

Do you offer baby swimming lessons in North Lakes?

Yes – we offer baby swimming lessons for children as young as 3-months old. Our swimming lessons for children aged 3-months to 12 years helps to build confidence in your little one and provides fundamental skills they need in terms of safety awareness and overall comfortability in the water.

How often should we be attending swimming lessons?

Just like anything, the more regularly your child practices swimming, the better they will be. Swimming is a physical activity that requires practice to maintain and develop skills, so it’s important to have regular lessons so that students can continue to make progress in the water. For very young children, this can often be achieved through starting with one regular swimming lesson per week.
